Dede is a 18 year veteran Professional Triathlete. She came into the sport under the tutelage of the legendary Karen Smyers. Karen was Dede's first coach in the sport and after 2 years racing as an amateur, Karen was the first to encourage Dede to race as a Professional.
Dede is a 3-time Ironman Champion and a 2-time 70.3 Champion. She is the 2016 12-hour Time Trial World Champion where she set the course record of 258 miles, beating all of the men as well. Dede won Ultraman Florida in 2020 where she set an Ultraman World Record of 22 hours, 48 minutes and 31 seconds. And she is the 2022 Ultraman World Champion where she set a course record by over 45 minutes of 23 hours, 22 minutes and 58 seconds.
Dede is a part of the Ironman live commentary team, providing color commentary and race analysis for Ironman races around the world, to fans via the Facebook Watch and Outside TV.
Dede lives in Boulder, CO with her husband of 20 years, Dave and their two yellow Labrador retrievers, Piper and Charley.
